My research interests lie in the broad area of multimedia systems and computer networks. I am in particular interested in mobile multimedia, video dissemination over hybrid networks, cloud multiplayer games, and efficient content sharing in mobile social networks. I received my PhD from Simon Fraser University, Burnaby, BC, Canada in 2009. I was a Senior Research Scientist at Dutsche Telekom Inc. R&D Laboratories before joining National Tsing Hua University. I worked with Motorola Inc. in 2005 as a Senior Network Engineer and with Lucent Technologies between 2001 and 2005 as a Software Engineer. I received the M.Eng. degree from University of Maryland, College Park in 2003, and the M.Sc. and B.Sc. degrees from National Chung Cheng University, Taiwan in 2000 and 1996, respectively.

I study real-life research problems and develop concrete prototypes to evaluate my solutions. For example, the mobile TV testbed developed by me and my colleagues won the Best Technical Demo Award in the ACM Multimedia 2008 Conference. I actively participate in multimedia research communities. For example, I serve on the Preservation Committee of ACM Special Interest Group on Multimedia (SIGMM). I was on the Review Board Committee of IEEE Technical Committee on Multimedia Communications (MMTC) between 2010 and 2012. I am a TPC Co-chair of ACM Mobile Video Delivery Workshop (MoVid'13, MoVid'12), and I was a Web-chair of ACM International Workshop on Network and Operating Systems Support for Digital Audio and Video (NOSSDAV'10). I served on several Technical Program Committees of high-quality conferences in my research areas, including ACM Multimedia, ACM NOSSDAV, and IEEE ICME.
